Everyday Literacy for Local Communities – Micro Grants

Micro Grants of $500 are available for all Neighbourhood Houses.  These grants are for small literacy projects aimed at improving  engagement and participation in your community, for resources that will be used to engage adults and families, or for literacy support training for Neighbourhood House staff and volunteers.

Each year, each House will be able to apply for one Micro Grant.  After that, any remaining funds will be made available on a first come first served basis.  That is, subject to available funding, repeat applications will be accepted.

To apply, check the new Funding Guidelines – Micro Grants (pdf) which cover the grant requirements.  There is a one page application form, so apply using the Micro Grant Request Form (docx).  If you save the form to your computer, you can then complete the application in Microsoft Word, save it, and apply by email.  This is the preferred method, but postal applications are also welcome.  To assist you, have a look at this small selection of possible ideas for Micro Grants. If you would like to discuss your project or training ideas, please ring Louise at the Neighbourhood Houses Tasmania office on 6228 6515.

If you are successful in receiving a grant, you will be required to provide a Micro Grant Summary Report at the completion of the project or training, or when you have used the resources you bought with your grant.
