NHT Board Nominations
We have included some information you will require to become a NHT Board member here. Working on the Board is very rewarding, but be aware that workload can be quite heavy. You need to speak with a current Board member to find out more about the role, or speak with the NHT staff on (03) 6228 6515.
It is expected that the terms for board members will be increased to 2 year terms a this year’s AGM.

The Management Committee Handbook is NHT’s primary resource for House Committees. It is a comprehensive guide, and is supported by the Toolbox of Guides, Policies and Procedures available, also through the Resources menu above.
This document is the Government Guide for how Neighbourhood Houses are funded. It has been reviewed and rewritten during 2018. It provides a good overview on how Houses operate, our community development approach and outcomes reporting.
Linkwest, NHT’s sister organisation in Western Australia also uses our Management Handbook for their Houses. They have also created some useful summary fact sheets, that can provide a good basic understanding of governance issues for new committee members. They are freely available on their website here.
NHT is also able to offer committees some training on the roles and responsibilities. Please contact the office for more.
