Neighbourhood House Program Strategic Framework – Part 2

The Hodgman Liberal Government is a proud supporter of Neighbourhood Houses located throughout Tasmania and the valuable work they do in providing support, and building community capacity, resilience and cohesion.

Together with the peak body, Neighbourhood Houses Tasmania, they operate as a network to promote social inclusion, support the delivery of important programs, and link people to health and other vital services in 35 communities across the state.

Support for our Neighbourhood House Neighbours in NSW and QLD

At this very moment, communities in Queensland and New South Wales are being devastated by catastrophic bushfires.

Now is the time for our nation-wide sector of over 1,000 neighbourhood houses/centres to rally together to support those communities directly impacted.

Neighbourhood Houses Submission to NewStart Inquiry

Earlier this week the Australian Neighbourhood Houses and Centres Association (ANHCA) submitted a response to the Parliamentary Inquiry into Newstart.

This is a significant step forward for ANHCA and demonstrates the interest, commitment and shared vision of the state peak bodies.

Neighbourhood Houses Tasmania (NHT) (and the Network of Houses) are members of ANHCA.  This means we are part of a huge network of 1000 Neighbourhood Houses and Centres across Australia.

Welcome to the new website for Neighbourhood Houses

We're excited to finally announce the launch of a fresh, revitalised and simplified website for the Network of Neighbourhood Houses.  The website compliments the recent publication of the Handbook for Neighbourhood House boards, the Strategic Framework, and a set of new governance videos, also being launched today.

The website continues to offer the same information primarily for managers, board members, other staff and volunteers. It continues to be a useful portal to find out what else is going on in the Network of Neighbourhood Houses across Tasmania.

NHT acknowledges the traditional and original owners of the land on which we work and meet, the palawa / pakana of lutruwita / Tasmania. We pay our respects to Elders past and present and acknowledge that this land remains unceded.
